Hey there book lover… I am delighted to be kicking off the blog tour for the ferociously good Monster Doughnuts by Gianna Pollero. I have previously written a review of the book which you can read here. What I’m sharing today is a ‘create your own monster guide’ written by Gianna herself. So get creating and enjoy 😁
Most of the monsters in Monster Doughnuts are based on things that happen every day to all of us.
How many odd socks have you got? Loads, I bet. Sock Stealers are almost certainly responsible for the missing ones. They like to wear them on their hands and sleep in nests made of them. Ever tripped over absolutely nothing at all? Of course you have! That’ll be a Tripper Upper monster. They find you lurching forwards uncontrollably completely hilarious!
So to create your own monster, have a think about what happens in your life that might not have a proper explanation, or perhaps it could be something that annoys you… and turn it into a monster.
Have a look around your house. Has no one changed the toilet roll again? What if a monster’s responsible? What might it be called? What might it look like?
Is your bedroom messier than you think you left it? Probably a pesky monster’s fault.
To create the best monsters, take inspiration from the things around you and set your imagination free!
Remember you can read my review of Monster Doughnuts and don’t forget to check in on the other stops on the blog tour over the next few days. I would absolutely LOVE to see your monstrous creations so send them my way and I’ll gladly share them.
