Book Review for ‘The Land of Roar’
The Land of Roar was an amazing fantasy book, I could barely put it down!
It was about a brother and sister who had made up a fantasy land full of dragons, wizards and mermaids called Roar. Over time, the twins had forgotten about it, but one summer before secondary school they cleared out their Grandpa’s attic. Arthur finds the map of Roar but Rose doesn’t believe him. Eventually, their Grandpa gets pulled into Roar and the twins have to save him from Crowky.
My favourite character is Wininja (Win) who is an imaginary character made up by Arthur. He was a wizard and a ninja who always wanted to have fun and mess around all the time. Arthur goes along with it but Rose quickly gets annoyed and just wants to get this mission over, she still doesn’t believe in Roar.
My favourite part of the book was the standoff between Crowky and Arthur, Rose, Win and the Lost Girls when they are saving Grandpa. It is such an amazing scene full of dragons and fire and lots and lots of Win’s terrible magic. When they were crossing the endless sea, it was very tense but very breathtaking. The ending is so mystical and you can really picture everything in your head.
The Land Of Roar has been one of the best books I have read in a long time. I would rate this 4.5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy magic, mystery, fantasy and adventure books. I loved this book and am so thrilled I had the chance to read this.
